"So now write this song and teach it to the children of Israel. Set it in their mouths, so this song will become a witness for me among the children of Israel."                         (Deut 31:19)

It’s All Good

Music & English Lyrics by Robbi Sherwin with Sababa
Text: Psalm 136:1, Gen. 1:31

Chorus:
It’s all good, it’s all good
God made it and it’s all good

We thank you, God, for the gifts you bring
For the food we eat, for the songs we sing
We thank you, God, for the earth & sky
For our family’s love as the days go by

Chorus:
We thank you God, for the night and day
For the gift of Torah that shows us the way

We thank you, God, for our Sabbath rest
For You are One, and we are blessed!

Chorus:
Hodu L’adonai, L’adonai ki tov
V’yahr Elohim et kol asher asah
V’hiney tov m’od

Give thanks to God, for God is good!
God saw everything that She had created and it was good.

 Beauty of the World

Music & English Lyrics by: Sababa;
Hebrew Text: Traditional Blessing for rare beauty

Clouds lift, sun breaks through
A day of beauty, a gift from You
Mountains rise,
wind calls my name
Each day renews creation -
never quite the same
And I thank You for the
Beauty of the world

Baruch Ata Adonai Eloheynu
Melech Ha’olam
Shekacha lo, b’olamo  (2x)

Sun sinks - darkness falls
As night descends,
I hear You call
And I thank You for the Beauty of the world

Blessed are you, God, Creator of the Universe, Who has such beauty in the world.

I Saw God

Music & English lyrics by Robbi Sherwin & Scott Leader
Hebrew Text: Gen 28:16
Written for the Bat Mitzvah of Rachel Van Den Berg

I saw God  - Rescuing the children
Leading them from slavery
With an outstretched hand
I see God  - Fire on the mountain
Giving us the Torah and the Promised Land
     I saw God … I see God
I heard God  - In the notes of the chorus
In the ones who came before us
Voices strong & loud
I hear God  - In the sprinkle of the raindrops
In the whistle of the wind
And the thunder of the clouds

    I heard God … I hear God
I felt God - Underneath the water
Sending me a beacon - Reaching out Her hand
I feel God is a never-ending story
Returning to the Torah helps us understand
    I heard God … I hear God

 Bridge:

     Achein yesh Adonai  -B'makom hazeh
     V'anochi lo yadati
God was in this place - And I, I did not know

We see God  - in the faces before us
Loving and supporting - each and every day
We see God  - leaping off the pages
Guiding our choices as we make our way
We see God - We hear God
We feel God - God is in this place

Surely, God was in this place, and I -  I did not know.

Adonai S’fatai

Music by Steve Brodsky, Text: Psalm 51:15

Adonai, s’fatai tiftach
U’fi yagid tehilatecha
Open up my lips and let my mouth declare Your praises

Ani T’fillati

Music & Lyrics by Robbi Sherwin; Text: Deut 6:4

Chorus:
Oh, ani t’fillati
Oh, my prayer’s a part of me

Oh, ani t’fillati
My prayer’s a part of me

Listen to that voice
That still, small voice

Shema Yisrael, Adonai Eloheynu
Shema Yisrael, Adonai Echad
(Listen, Israel, Adonai is our God, Adonai is One)

Ani t’fillati my prayer’s a part of me
My prayer is me – ani t’fillati

Oh, ani t’fillati
Oh, my prayer’s a part of me

Oh, ani t’fillati
My prayer’s a part of me
Deep in the heart of me
My prayer’s a part of me

For Healing

Music & English lyrics by Steve Brodsky & Robbi Sherwin
Hebrew Lyrics by Natan Arons, Spanish lyrics by Blanca Sherwin

Adonai Who blessed the ones before us
Grant compassion and healing to those in pain
Renew body and soul

Restore them to wholeness
And let us say: Amen

Adonai sheberach et Avoteinu v'Imoteinu
Ha'aneck rachamim oorefuah la'koavim

Chadesh goof ooneshama
Ha'hachzeerem lee shleimutam

V’nomar: Amen

Dios, quien bendijo a nuestros antepasados
Otorgue compacion y saluda a’aquellos en dolor
Renueve cuerpo y alma
Restaurelos - Y dejenos decir: Amen

Mi Chamocha

Music by Steve Brodsky
Text: Ex 15:11, 18 & liturgy

Mi Chamocha ba’elim Adonai, Mi Kamocha nedar ba’kodesh
Nora t’hilot oseh feleh? Norah t’hilot oseh feleh?

Evening:
Malechutecha ra’u vanecha bokei a’yam lifnei Moshe
Ze’eli anu v’amru  - Adonai yimloch l’olam va’ed!

Morning:
Shira chadasha shibechu g’ulim
L’shimcha al s’fat hayam

Yachad kulum hodo v’himlichu v’amru
Adonai yimloch l’olam va’ed!

Who is like you, Adonai, among other gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, awesome in praises, doing wonders? Evening: In their escape from the sea, Your children saw Your sovereign might displayed, "This is my God!" they cried.  "The Eternal will reign for ever and ever.” Morning: With a new song,  the ones You rescued praised Your name at the sea shore. All of them in unison gave thanks and praised Your rule, and said: "The Eternal will reign for ever and ever."

Heiveinu Shalom Aleichem

Music by Scott Leader; Lyrics: Traditional folk & Psalm 133:1

Heiveynu shalom, aleichem (4x)
Hinei mah tov u’manayim shevet achim gam yachad

We will bring peace to all. How good and pleasant it is that all can live together in unity.

Barcheinu

Music by Steve Brodsky
Text: Morning liturgy (Sim Shalom)

Barcheinu, Avinu kulanu k’echad b’or panecha
Barcheinu, Avinu, kulanu k’echad b’or shalom
Whoa … Adonai, bless everyone of us
All of us together
Let us stand in the light of Your presence
Oh Adonai, bless everyone of us

All of us as one
Let us shine with the light of shalom

Bless us our Parent, all of us as one, by the light of Your face

Darkest Time of Night

Music & Lyrics by Robbi Sherwin
In loving memory of Steve Meltzer, z’l

In the darkest time of night
We remember you were here before
In the darkest time of night
In the brightest of all lights
Your smile could open any door
In the brightest of all lights

In the darkest time of night
We remember what you left behind
In the darkest time of night
In the brightest of all lights
Your voice is true and oh so kind
In the brightest of all lights

Did we say - And did you know?
How much we would miss you so
Did you know? And did we say?
Or did time get in the way?

Hinei Mah Tov

Music & English text by Hal Aqua; Text: Psalm 133:1

Hinei mah tov u’manayim shevet achim gam yachad (2x)

How good and how pleasant you know that it would be
If we could all live in peace and harmony

How good and how pleasant you know that it would be
If brothers and sisters
could live in peace and harmony.

Hu Ya’aseh

Music & English Lyrics by Rich Glauber & Robbi Sherwin
Text: Evening liturgy (Oseh Shalom)

Chorus:
Hu Ya'aseh, ya'aseh shalom aleinu hallelujah (2x)

God cannot do it alone, we must do this together

We must work for peace, every sister and brother
No, God can't do it alone, we've got to do our part
We've got to move a little muscle, show a little heart

Spread over us your shelter of peace we pray
From Jerusalem and all over the world today

Bridge:

You can feel it in the mountains,
In the rhythm of the sea
It went out beyond the desert,
It’s the ruach (spirit)
we seek
We can make the greatest difference
With our hands and with our hearts
Blessing the world, blessing each other, is just the start.

God makes peace - but it's up to us - Praise God!

Blessed are you, Eternal One, our God, Ruler of the Universe, who creates the fruit of the vine, creator of all kinds of spices, Creator of the lights of fire. Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, Who distinguishes between sacred and ordinary, between light and darkness, between the seventh day and the six days of creation. Blessed are You, Adonai, Who distinguishes between sacred and ordinary. You teach us to distinguish between the commonplace and the holy: teach us also to transform our sins to merits.  Let those who love You be numerous as the sands, and the stars of heaven.
